The executive committee of 2019-2021 was the first executive committee of KCYL Germany. During this period, due to corona pandemic the activities of KCYL Germany was facing lot of challenges to conduct events due to lockdowns and covid directives. Even in those unfavourable circumstances GKCYL was able to entertain and bring together the community members through various online events. An online gathering called "Idayanoppam" was held on May 17, 2020, where Auxiliary Bishop Mar Joseph Pandarasseril addressed the youth studying and residing in Germany via video conference. This meeting proved beneficial for young people in Germany to get acquainted with one another and learn about their endeavors.
During the holy month of the Rosary, an online rosary recital was conducted for five days under the leadership of the executive members. An online registration process was created to collect data about existing and new GKCYL members. This was later used to implement a birthday notification system that will notify the executives of the upcoming birthdays of the registered members. This deemed helpful as wishes could be posted on the official social media pages of GKCYL on members' birthdays.
Various events, such as food photography, singing competitions, TikToks, and the best picture contest, were organized to recognize and nurture the talents of GKCYL members. Prizes were subsequently distributed. The GKCYL Berlin unit organized a gathering on the occasion of Youth Day on July 18th. GKCYL members enthusiastically took up the "Fruit Tree Challenge" organized by the Kottayam Archdiocese to observe World Environment Day on June 6th and planted saplings.
In the month of September 2020, KCYL Germany has organised an international Photography Contest called "My Virtual Onam" in regards to the Onam festival season. The contest was conducted all members of Knanaya community across the world, irrespective of age. In total around 117 contestants from around the world participated in the contest. Cash prize and gift cards worth approx. 15000 INR was sponsored by Mr. Philips Abraham from Australia. On the occasion of Christmas, GKCYL members observed the advent calendar by lighting candles in their homes.
A webinar on professional opportunities in Germany for students and working professionals who wish to migrate to Germany was conducted on 13th December 2020. Rev. Johny Chamappara and Mr. Davis Vadakancheri served as keynote speakers. The topics covered were "Expert advice on professional migration", "Guidelines for Student Visa", "Discussion on PR and Citizenship", "Personal Experiences of Students", and "Q&A Session". Approximately 300 students and professionals from various parts of the world participated in the webinar, receiving information about different opportunities and how to utilise them while having their doubts clarified.
On February 14, 2021, the GKCYL Executive Committee decided to establish an organisation for all Knanaya Catholics in Germany and also created 7 units with the aim of bringing together families and youth residing in the 16 states of Germany. On 17 April 2021, GKCYL have established an organisation called German Knanaya Catholic Fellowship (aka GKCF) for all Knanaya Catholics in Germany. In the history of Knanaya Catholic Organisations, it is the first time a KCYL paving path to the establishment of an organisation based on the concept of Diaspora Knanaya Catholic Congress ( DKCC ) . The first executive committee has completed the term by May 2021 after conducting the election for new executive committee.
